Logitech Targets Open Office Noise With New Zone 2 Headsets

26 September 2025

When Logitech introduced the Zone Wireless 2 ES and Zone Wired 2 headsets this month, the company wasn’t just adding to its already extensive portfolio of workplace peripherals. It was addressing one of the most pressing challenges of hybrid and open office environments: noise.

For decades, Logitech has been known for its mice, keyboards, webcams, and video conferencing equipment—tools that quietly enable knowledge workers to stay connected and productive. But as the return-to-office trend collides with increasingly open and collaborative floor plans, the problem of workplace distraction has come to the forefront.

The biggest challenge for workers is noise, like colleagues chattering, nearby phone calls, HVAC, coffee machines, and keyboards clacking,” said Henry Levak, VP of Product, Logitech for Business. “Noise is especially distracting after many people got used to a more controlled environment by working from home. Returning to a hybrid setting or open office is especially difficult to adjust to. The best defense is a solid pair of noise-cancelling headsets, and we took it a step further by incorporating AI-enhanced ANC that continuously samples the environment and distinguishes between different noise profiles.

The cost of distraction

Levak points to research showing the true cost of interruptions. “Microsoft’s recent Work Index indicates that employees are interrupted an average of 275 times per day. An Economist study estimates the dollar amount of lost productivity is $468 billion! Investing in tools to protect deep focus work, especially with knowledge workers, designers, and developers is an important business decision.

That’s why Logitech is positioning its latest Zone 2 headsets not as “nice-to-have” accessories but as strategic productivity tools. Beyond adaptive noise cancellation, the headsets are designed to minimize other types of distractions as well. Firmware updates, for example, happen silently in the background so users don’t get interrupted mid-task.

On the IT side, Logitech’s Sync platform allows admins to monitor, troubleshoot, and update devices remotely—crucial in hybrid workplaces where employees may be in the office one day and remote the next.

Smart, simple, sustainable

The Zone 2 series also fits into Logitech’s broader workplace solutions strategy. “We like to say that customers deserve smart, simple, and sustainable solutions not only to adapt to today’s work environment but stay ahead of tomorrow’s workplace,” Levak explained.

For Logitech, “smart” means integrating AI and automation features like adaptive ANC or smart enumeration, which automatically routes audio to the correct device. “Simple” reflects Logitech’s design philosophy of keeping advanced features easy to use. And “sustainable” means both materials and longevity: the new headsets use recycled plastics, responsible packaging, and come with replaceable batteries, headstraps, and earbuds.

What sets Zone 2 apart

The Zone Wireless 2 ES and Zone Wired 2 come with a custom-built 40 mm driver designed from scratch to optimize both music playback and active noise cancellation. “This innovative design delivers enhanced bass performance with minimal distortion,” said Levak.

But Levak emphasizes that Logitech’s real strength lies in its one-stop-shop approach for enterprises. From headsets and webcams to keyboards and mice, Logitech offers curated bundles for different types of users—from developers and creatives to executives. This simplifies procurement and IT management while ensuring compatibility with platforms like Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and Zoom.

Headsets as standard issue

Looking ahead, Levak sees noise-canceling headsets becoming standard workplace equipment. “Just like most companies wouldn’t hire without providing a laptop, the same logic is emerging for headsets. Many enterprises have already realized that audio quality, the ability to minimize interruptions, and create a level playing field in hybrid work is a competitive advantage.

Beyond headsets

The company is also investing heavily in its RightSound audio algorithms, which power Logitech’s webcams and conferencing systems. The latest version, RightSound 2, further enhances clarity in spaces with poor acoustics. And with products like the Rally Board 65—an all-in-one conferencing device that works even in noisy open spaces—Logitech is expanding its noise management beyond personal devices to entire meeting environments.

You can expect our audio algorithms to continue to get smarter and smarter over time, and adapt even further to any space a person would work,” Levak said.

With the Zone 2 headsets, Logitech is making the case that audio quality and distraction management are no longer peripheral issues. In the future of work, they may be as essential as the laptop itself.
