Automobili Pininfarina Unveils Battista Novantacinque

A Hypercar Tribute to 95 Years of Design Legacy

3 June 2025

Founded by Battista “Pinin” Farina, Pininfarina SpA has long been one of the most influential names in automotive design, shaping icons for Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, and others. The Italian design house built its reputation on elegance and aerodynamic precision — and that DNA lives on today in Automobili Pininfarina, the luxury electric vehicle manufacturer headquartered in Munich and backed by the Mahindra Group.

Launched in 2018, Automobili Pininfarina represents the company’s evolution from design consultancy to manufacturer of entirely electric hypercars. Its debut model, the Battista, redefined performance in the EV category with 1,900 horsepower and a 0–100 km/h time under 2 seconds — faster than an F1 car.

Battista Novantacinque: Where Craft Meets Carbon

The Battista Novantacinque takes exclusivity to new heights. Only five units will be produced globally, each featuring a tailored specification that pays homage to Italian heritage and Pininfarina’s signature aesthetic language. The showpiece vehicle sports a specially developed Argento Vittorio gloss metallic exterior with a subtle red pinstripe, recalling the original Pininfarina logo. The red theme continues with Glorioso red brake calipers and lightweight gloss black wheels.

Inside, the cabin is finished in Pelle Frau® leather and black Alcantara, with red contrast stitching and 95th-anniversary motifs subtly woven throughout. The attention to detail is obsessive — even the passenger dashboard features a bespoke aluminum plaque commemorating the occasion.

More Than a Car: A Statement of Intent

The Novantacinque isn’t just a celebration of the past. It’s a clear signal about where ultra-luxury, performance-focused, and sustainable mobility is heading. Automobili Pininfarina is staking a claim at the intersection of high design, electrification, and bespoke craftsmanship.

The Battista platform, on which the Novantacinque is based, has become a statement of what electric hypercars can be: carbon-neutral production, hand-assembled in Italy, and powered by a 120kWh battery with a range of up to 500 km. It combines sheer power with zero tailpipe emissions, offering a compelling vision of clean mobility without compromise.

A Market That Craves Exclusivity and Purpose

The launch comes at a time when ultra-high-net-worth individuals are increasingly seeking vehicles that are not only rare but also aligned with environmental values and artisanal production. According to Knight Frank’s 2024 Wealth Report, the luxury EV segment is expected to grow significantly, driven by regulatory changes and shifting buyer preferences. Automobili Pininfarina is well-positioned to lead this charge.

By combining heritage, electrification, and craftsmanship, the brand stands apart from both traditional supercar makers and newer EV startups. Its commitment to hand-built excellence and bespoke experiences sets it up as a serious contender in the limited-run hypercar market.

Looking Ahead

For a company built on 95 years of timeless design, the Novantacinque isn’t just a birthday present. It’s a beacon for the next century of performance and beauty — and a reminder that while technology moves fast, great design endures.
